Courmayeur – Val Veny – Courba Dzeleuna – Courmayeur
A loop trail around Mount Chetif, very pleasant and easy along the river in Val Veny. It then becomes challenging as you climb towards Courba Dzeleuna and descend towards Courmayeur. Along the way, you'll find the Rifugio Cai Uget where you can have lunch and enjoy the view. About 2 hours.
Courmayeur – Val Ferret – Rifugio Bonatti – Courmayeur
A loop trail starting from Courmayeur and traveling along the entire Val Ferret to Arnouva by road. From here, you climb along the paths and follow the famous balcony trail, reaching Rifugio Bonatti and continuing to Rifugio Bertone before descending via a steep path to Courmayeur.
Road cycling routes
Colle San Carlo
You can climb from either Morgex or La Thuile. The climb from Morgex is really tough, with gradients never dropping below 8%. The hardest part is the first section with some ramps well over 12%. After Arpy, the average gradient decreases, and you reach the top of the Colle shortly after. You descend towards La Thuile and then Pré-Saint-Didier. In total, it's about 40 km with 1,200 meters of elevation gain.
Little St Bernard Pass
The first hairpins above Pré-Saint-Didier up to the Balme bridge are steady (5%). From here, the road climbs more decisively to La Thuile (7%), then the gradients increase through a forest with the steepest section (8-9%) until a flat plateau at 1,850 m, where you'll find a restaurant with a small lake. From here, the gradient remains constant (6-7%) until the entrance of the vast plateau with Lake Verney, which precedes the pass at 2,189 m.
